Vermont Symphony Orchestra

Jeremy Levine

Where were you born and (if different) where did you grow up? Baldwin, NY

Current residence and marital status/family: NYC; single; adorable cuddly kitty, Lila

Education: BM from Mannes College of Music; MM from Manhattan School of Music

When did you start playing with the VSO? 2006

Other current jobs besides VSO: Princeton Symphony; Symphony in C; teaches at Manhattan School of Music’s summer program; substitute percussionist on Broadway

Favorite composers: Bach, Stravinsky, Shostakovich

Hobbies: exercising; hard core NY Rangers fan and hockey fanatic

How did you get started in music? I was always drawn to drums and percussion (always tapping on things). Luckily, I think I found the right profession.

Describe a typical day: Wake up, exercise, go to practice, maybe teach a lesson or two, go to a play/rehearsal/concert/Broadway show.

Dream job if not musician: Veterinarian, because I love animals. Or goalie for the NY Rangers!

Favorite vice: comfort food!

People would be surprised to know that: I have two tattoos and plan on getting more (new addiction).

Favorite way to spend an evening: Hanging out with close friends around an open fire with a great Rye Manhattan in hand.

Pet peeve: rudeness and bad attitudes
