VSO New Music Advisor Heads to the Juilliard School

After almost twenty years with the Curtis Institute of Music, David Serkin Ludwig has been appointed dean and director of the Juilliard School’s music division.

Serkin Ludwig received his graduate diploma from the Juilliard School in 2002, and most recently hosted the VSO’s November and December “Music for Days Like This” online concerts.

“I am delighted to share with my friends in the VSO community that I’ve been appointed to the position of Dean and Director of the Juilliard School Music Division. I’ve been involved with the Symphony for nearly twenty years and owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to its musicians and to Jaime Laredo for being amazing advocates for me all along. I look forward to our continued work together and my wife Bella and I (and the cats) send all our love (now from New York!)” says David.

Thank you, David, for your incredible work with the VSO! We wish you the best on this new adventure.
