Randy Sargent joined the VSO Board in 2020. An Audit & Accounting Partner at JMM & Associates, Randy lives in Richmond and, in addition to music, enjoys history, golf and traveling. He has great admiration for people who have developed their talents to their fullest, whether they are musicians, singers, or athletes.

In Randy’s words, “As a native Vermonter, I was familiar with the VSO, but from a distance. Like many people, my appreciation for classical music increased as I grew older, thanks to the terrific programs on VPR Classical and attending VSO concerts in-person or virtually, especially the recent Jukebox series. When the opportunity to join the VSO board arose, I quickly volunteered. I was raised to always give back to my community and since I have little musical talent, lending my accounting skills was the right fit for me.

In addition, having previously served on the Board of the Vermont Youth Orchestra, I was interested to gain a deeper understanding of the VSO as one of Vermont’s oldest nonprofit organizations.

Moving forward, I believe the best way that the VSO can serve Vermont is to continue to expand our offerings to reach new audiences, while also remaining rooted in our history.”
