VSO at the Flynn
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra offers a four-concert series at the Flynn in Burlington.
This year, we continue our statewide mission of providing world-class musical experiences, exploring a diverse range of genres while hosting a stellar lineup of captivating guest soloists from around the globe.
For fans of traditional classical repertoire, the VSO presents some of history’s most enduring masterpieces: Stravinsky’s still-radical Rite of Spring, Ravel’s Bolero, and Sibelius’ swan-inspired Fifth Symphony. Three distinct themes anchor our programming this year:
- Powerful Women: Featuring a world premiere VSO commission by composer Clarice Assad celebrating the lives of Vermonters Charity and Sylvia, the first out lesbian couple in America, plus music by Björk and tales of Aida, Scheherazade, and Cleopatra.
- The Environment: Showcasing Vermont-born composer Marcus Goddard’s work for solo cello and orchestra, accompanied by breathtaking film of the Antarctic wilderness.
- Halloween: Audiences will be spooked by favorites like The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Danny Elfman’s Nightmare Before Christmas, and music from the film Nope.

When you log in* to the Flynn’s website, you will be able to renew your subscription and retain your seats from the previous VSO season. You will have the opportunity to request a seat change, as well as add tickets for Holiday Pops. If you do not renew your seats by July 31, 2026 they will be released. If you are a new or lapsed subscriber, you will have the opportunity to request seating within the hall in the section you prefer. You may purchase a flexible package of 3, 4 or 5 concerts by calling the Flynn box office.
