Your gift goes beyond just giving… your gift makes music.
The VSO’s ability to innovate, thrive, and advance depends on our proud, loyal, and growing audience which reflects the diverse make-up of our great state. Through the generous support of our audience, donors, and regional friends, the VSO continues to bring world class music to communities across the state, attract guest conductors and soloists with international notoriety, and invest in musical education for music lovers of all ages. Why I Give
When you support the VSO, you become part of a collection of committed friends who value the future of music in Vermont. They give their time, treasure and talent in so many ways.
Symphony orchestras make the world a more beautiful place. I grew up with classical music and know how joyful it is to experience – particularly live. Music fills ones soul. When I sit in the Flynn Theater and listen to this wonderful orchestra play, I become more hopeful and peaceful. Art, both performing and otherwise, inspires us to be more creative and innovative. It helps us “see” things that we never could have imagined. I’ve had the opportunity to read messages from school children after they experienced VSO musicians in their schools. Talk about joy! Every Vermonter should experience that joy and “see” view a world that they previously hadn’t imagined. Read More »
With the hurried and hectic pace of the digital age, it's important for Vermonters of all ages and backgrounds to have access to the focus, substance, and inspiration that classical music provides. Under the leadership of dynamic Executive Director Ben Cadwallader, the VSO is not only making music available to a wide range of audiences, but ensuring they are relevant and approachable. By getting into our schools through programs such as SymphonyKids, the VSO is helping to shape the diverse, promising next generation of citizens, musicians, artists, and thinkers.
Rep. Kesha Ram
The Vermont Symphony Orchestra is a Vermont treasure, on par with the world's best maple syrup and cheddar cheese. Each year it has improved with age. The VSO's home is Vermont, but its reputation is national and international. We are fortunate to listen to a first-rate orchestra, under the conductor Jamie Laredo, and the extraordinary guest artists he brings here. It's a highlight of fall, winter and spring in Vermont to attend a VSO concert.
Gov. Madeleine Kunin
VSO is a unique cultural treasure here in the Green Mountain State. By making the highest caliber live music accessible to all Vermonters, VSO adds a rich dimension to our quality of life. It is innovating with new experiences brought to the people in exciting ways. The Sound & Soil program at ArtsRiot was incredibly stimulating and beautifully presented; the evening blended moving classical selections with outstanding cuisine and an environment unlike any other. We are delighted to be supporting VSO’s expanding efforts to engage new audiences throughout Vermont.
