On July 24, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra returns to its well-loved open-air concerts with “Summer Under the Stars” at Shelburne Museum. Conducted by VSO’s Creative Projects Chair Matt LaRocca, the program features Burlington-based singer-songwriter Francesca Blanchard (pictured right). In partnership with Higher Ground, a dynamic 25-piece chamber orchestra plays music inspired by nature and the great outdoors. Reunite with the VSO at this family-friendly concert which includes Copland’s feisty “Hoedown,” selections from Bizet’s CarmenLibertango by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, Wood Notes by the legendary William Grant Still, and VSO musicians backing Blanchard in arrangements of several of her original songs.

The concert will be presented in line with COVID-19 guidelines. For more information, click here.

While smoking and animals (except assistance and service animals) are not allowed at any VSO show, we encourage you to bring a picnic, blanket and folding chairs. Food trucks will be available onsite. Please note that this event is BYOB. Alcohol will not be available for purchase onsite. Flashlights are suggested to help you find your way to your car after the sun has set.
