Before the show at 7pm on Zoom, join VSO Executive Director Elise Brunelle as she interviews composer Molly Joyce, VSO Artistic Advisor and Project Conductor Matt LaRocca, VSO New Music Advisor David Ludwig, percussionist Tom Toner and cellist John Dunlop. We’ll delve into the challenges of performing this concert’s repertoire, discuss how Molly uses her disability as a source of creative inspiration, and learn about how composers write new music: where to start, choosing instrumentation and how to know a piece is complete.
