The VSO and the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival (MNFF) are joining hands to present a dynamic concert/film event on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 4pm at MNFF’s 8th Annual Fest. An Afternoon at the Movies features a live, 22-piece VSO chamber orchestra accompanying the screening of seven documentary and animated short films, all with Vermont ties. Tickets to this extraordinary event at the Mahaney Arts Center in Middlebury are available in advance for $13 via Eventbrite. Admission is free for MNFF8 Festival Pass holders.
The program weaves though a breadth of musical styles and film stories, from two animated shopping carts searching for love to the story of Hansel and Gretel. Adventurous lemurs learn to fly, a little girl grows up in an undocumented farmworker family, and a director chronicles his path from prison to filmmaking.
