The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Quartet (Kathy Andrew and Jane Kittredge, violins; Ana Ruesink, viola; John Dunlop, cello) has over a decade of experience performing together in venues large and small across the Green Mountain State. Whether in an orchestral setting, opera pit, rock band, chamber hall or wedding tent, these four players bring their uniquely beautiful classical sound to any musical venture.
This afternoon’s performance will pair quartet music with works of poetry by Vermont poets from around the state, both past and present. Featuring poems by Robert Frost, Wyn Cooper, Chard deNiord, Julie Cadwallader-Staub and Madeleine Kunin among others, each poem is paired with a piece of music that serves to depict, illustrate and enhance the spoken word. Musical offerings will feature works by Mendelssohn, Glazunov, Piazzolla and Caroline Shaw.
Masks are currently optional, with requirements following the Town of Shelburne’s most up-to-date recommendations. Capacity is limited. Location: 5376 Shelburne Rd.
