The Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus is a statewide, volunteer vocal ensemble. The VSO Chorus has been under the wonderful direction of Robert De Cormier since its inception in 1993 and performs at least once annually with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra.
We rehearse for up to six weeks before a performance; on Saturdays (during the academic year) and Tuesdays (during the summer), . Rehearsal locales vary statewide but include Burlington, Middlebury, Montpelier and Rutland.
Audition Information
At least once annually, we conduct auditions for new members.
Auditions are 10-15 minutes in length and we provide an accompanist.
We ask that you prepare the following:
1. A solo of choice (Preferably in English and ANY selection is fine!)
2. Range demonstration (Sing from bottom to top of your singing range)
3. Sight-singing (Don't worry - our accompanist will be playing along)
Our next audition opportunities are:
Yet to be scheduled
Please note that we will hear all interested voices, but may only have
availability for male voices at this time. All others may be asked to participate as an "alternate" on an as-needed basis.
