Masterworks: Burlington

Date: 03.19.2016
Time: 8:00pm
Location: Flynn Center for the Performing Arts

Join us during our five-concert Saturday Masterworks series at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington. All concerts begin at 8:00 pm and are preceded at 7:00 pm by Musically Speaking, a free pre-concert discussion that provides entertaining insight into the evening’s program.

We bring you a pair of Ludwigs! VSO New Music Advisor David Ludwig has written a violin concerto for his wife, the incomparable Bella Hristova. Winner of an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2013, Hristova gives the world premiere of this work at our concert, limbering up (very appropriately) with Dvorak’s Romance for Violin and Orchestra. The concert ends happily ever after…with a piece by the other Ludwig, which needs no introduction.
