The film follows marble from deep inside the vast underground Danby quarry to the Vermont Marble Company’s finishing mill in Proctor\, where cranes\, gang saws\, machines and marble workers cut\, form\, polish and carve. The striking cinematography and evocative score guide the viewer to appreciate the beauty of the process\, as well as to understand and appreciate the skills of the Vermonters who work with marble.
