New! The VSO Blog: Visit often -- new entries
are being posted all the time!
Arts organizations across the country are giving patrons an insider's look at their doings
by way of candid diary entries authored by their affiliate artists, available for public
viewing on the internet. How are they doing this? Through blogging: a relatively simple
technology that is gaining importance on the internet as an effective way of disseminating
behind-the-scenes information about people and events. One of the most-recognizable names
in blogging services on the web is www.blogger.com. They describe themselves as "focusing
on helping people have their own voice on the web and organizing the world's information
from the personal perspective." Presented in journal-entry format, blogger is a means by
which guest artists, composers, conductors, musicians, and staff can publish enlightening
musings regarding their involvement with our organization.
The VSO is unrolling a blog in line with the 2007 TD Banknorth Summer Festival Tour.
Guest conductor Andrew Massey will lead the charge with entries chronicling his experiences
with the VSO this summer. Discover his inspirations, thoughts, and much more by visiting
our blog at

home page.
